COPPA Policy
Dear Parents,
Like you, I've "agreed" to many privacy policies while signing my three kids up for things online, without really reading them.
So if you’re reading this, I wanted to add a simple section before our “official” policy to explain it.
We're committed to complying with the law in protecting your kid's data - and below, we've outlined how we comply with children's data privacy laws under COPPA (the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) in the United States and applicable privacy laws in Canada.
The formal policy is below, but here are the main things to understand:
- Parents Are in Charge Legends accounts are created and managed by parents. Kids don't sign up on their own, and the program is designed for parents and children to use together.
- You Give Permission When You Sign Up We verify parental permission through secure credit card sign-up (even for trials). This is how we make sure only parents can create accounts.
- We Collect the Minimum Information Possible We only collect what's needed to run the program, like your child's first name (or nickname), age, and progress. We don't collect unnecessary personal details.
- We Use Data Only to Help Your Child Learn Your child's information is used only to track progress and improve the program - not for advertising.
- No Ads. No Selling Data. Ever. We don't show ads to kids, and we don't sell or rent your data.
- We Take Security Seriously Your family's information is protected with encryption, access controls, and strict internal safeguards.
- You're Always in Control You can review, update, or delete your child's information at any time by contacting us.
- We Don't Keep Data Forever If you cancel, your child's information is deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period.
And as always, if you have any questions, please email us at hello@buildlegends.com.
Thanks for your interest,
Sonny Caberwal CEO, Legends
